Who can apply for the Neuron Impulse grants?
How can I sign up and submit my grant application?
On our homepage, click on “Sign Up” and fill out the required information. After submitting your details, you’ll receive an email with a password. In the column on the right-hand side of the page, type in your name (email address) and the password. Then click on “Submit Application” and fill out all required fields. You can modify or update your project as often as you like until the deadline.
For the non-Czech nationals is possible to fill in the application in English.
Do I have to fill out all the information when I’m signing up for the first time?
Information must be entered in all required fields.
Can I change my password?
Yes. In the navigation menu “My Account” on the right, click on “Edit” and then change your password. It must be at least 6 alphanumeric characters.
What should I do if I forget my password?
Click on the button “Forgot password?” After typing in your registration email address, you’ll receive a new password which you can change later.
Can I submit multiple project proposals?
Yes. After registering in the column on the right-hand side, you can click on “My Menu” to submit another application. It’s up to each applicant to choose which Neuron Impulse grant they’d like to apply for as long as their proposals meet all the requirements.
Can I submit multiple project proposals in different disciplines?
Can I submit applications in English?
I can’t save my application and abstract. What’s the problem?
Try checking the length of your application or abstract. In each grant discipline, applications are limited to a specified number of characters. There could also be some information missing in one of the required fields. You should see an error message in the upper section of the page.
Can I copy and paste texts from text editors?
Yes, your abstract and application can be copied from, for instance, a MS Word file but some formatting features may be lost.
Where and how should I submit proposed project budget?
You’ll find budget in a separate tab that opens to a simple table (not part of the text field). Fill out the amounts in CZK in relevant fields and years (unused fields may be left empty).
How and where can I justify specific budget items?
The budget table provides fields for various budget items. You should fill out “Other” and then discuss your item in greater detail in the body of the application text, for instance, “purchase of movable property” > explain in what ways it will be used during project implementation, etc.
Can I work on my project research with a few other colleagues?
Each project is owned by one natural person who is responsible for the application. It’s up to the project owner/researcher/applicant whether they want to hire other research staff – it is possible to disburse funds for the payment of stipends.
What is the application attachment for?
The attachment is designed to display formulas and equations that cannot be inserted in the application itself. It is by no means an extension to the application (if used incorrectly, this attachment will not be considered).
Why can’t I add an attachment, CV or letter of recommendation?
Attachments can only be added as PDF files, a format commonly used on all computers today. Please check the size of your file; each file must be less than 5 MB. If that doesn’t work, try adding the attachment using another browser.
Can I edit my uploaded application if I find out I need to make some changes?
You can modify or update your application at any time during the grant application period that ends on March 31, 2017 at midnight (before April 1, 2017). Applications may not be submitted or in any way modified after this date. The application that is in your account at the time of the deadline is accepted as the final version.
Changes I’ve made to my project weren’t saved. What happened?
Always save all changes and edits using the blue button on the bottom of the page.
Can I submit my application any other way besides using your website?
No. We only accept applications that are uploaded using our web app, within the specified deadline and scope. Applications submitted using other means (regular mail, email) will not be considered.
